Biography.

Amir Bar-Lev is the acclaimed documentary director of Happy Valley12.12.12: The Concert for Sandy ReliefRe:GenerationThe Tillman Story ; and My Kid Could Paint That;  which have collectively garnered him some of the film industry’s highest honors and widespread critical praise. He also served as co-producer on the Academy Award Nominated Documentary Trouble the Water.

Amir’s branded film Re:Generation, featuring collaborations by artists such as Erykah Badu, Mos Def, Skrillex, and Mark Ronson, was awarded a Bronze Lion at Cannes.
His film 12.12.12, with Executive Producer Paul McCartney, documents the Hurricane Sandy relief concert featuring performances by The Rolling Stones, Kanye West, Alicia Keys and Bruce Springsteen. 

Amir’s film Happy Valley is a feature documentary exploring the identity crisis of State College in the wake of the Penn State Scandal.   
Amir’s firm grasp on popular culture, coupled with his synthesis of heightened reality and documentary storytelling makes him a compelling commercial director. 
Bar-Lev has done multiple commercial pieces for 72andSunny, and his Call of Duty: Endowment PSA was named one of the Best Spots of 2014 by Fast Company. 

Amir's much anticipated Grateful Dead documentary Long Strange Trip, executive produced by Martin Scorsese, made its' world premiere at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. The film has been acquired by Amazon for a June 2017 release.
